YAVFTW (yet another view from the window)

Err - still trying to get the hang of blogging so for now here's another view out the window - to be honest this one's from mid-Summer when all the moorings are in use. Today there would only be 3 boats in this shot. Posted by Picasa

View out the window couple of days ago. Currabinny Woods on the left, Spike Island and Cobh dead ahead. A biit choppy, but interesting as always - who would want to live out of sight of the sea? Posted by Picasa

Posted by Picasa oops - this photo should have gone in below...

Mary Constance
on Launch Day - Scamp gets in on the act as usual. This blog will mainly be about building her from very minimal plans (2 A4 sheets) with great advice and guidance from John Geary, Boatbuilder. She is clinker(US:lapstrake) built with larch planks on Iroko keel with mahogany sheerstrake and oak timbers(ribs). Posted by Picasa

Irish currach (pronounced cur-rock) gone a bit Dali-esque, and after playing about with fun settings on my camera software. Original will be posted when I find it. This is an original currach I think - at this place (near Beamish Crawford in Cork) they are building new currachs - interesting to find old skills being preserved in the middle of a modern city. Posted by Picasa

First post... not Last Post

This is my first attempt to create a blog - was heavily into technology, email (before web browsers and stuff - remember ATTMail and 2400 baud dialup?) - then dropped out for a couple of years while Google (wow! - what fun to be involved there) and blogs and stuff exploded.
So - this is mainly about Wooden Boats and stuff for now. Warning! - if detailed descriptions of woodworking and the intricacies of building small wooden boats is not your scene, you will be bored.
Will this blog be an easy way to put up stuff instead of creating a web page? Sounds like it should, with an easy way to elicit feedback and discussion.
